The NASK radio network is growing
In the all-country broad-band radio network, being built by NASK, eighteen radio transmitters are already working. Four base stations located around Warsaw: in Pruszków, Legionowo, Wołomin, and Karczewo, have joined the previously active base stations in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Gdynia – Ja¶kowa Kopa, Gdynia – Oksywie, Katowice, Kraków, Poznań, Wrocław and six base stations working within the project “e-¶więtokrzyskie”.
The system of four base stations installed on high chimneys in Pruszków, Legionowo, Wołomin , and Karczewo, enables tight covering the whole of Warsaw surrounding area within a circle of 80 kilometers in diameter. The new stations – in connection with the radio station NASK located in the center of the Capital City, existing for two years – constitute one of the biggest broad-band radio networks within Mazowieckie province.

On the basis of the decision of the President of URTiP (The Office of Electronic Communications), NASK uses radio frequencies within the whole country and is obliged to develop its network in accordance with a specified schedule. Within the network, the radio system VectraStar of the firm Cambridge Broadband Networks Ltd. is used, the standard radius of radio cell is 30 km, and the used range of frequency is 3.5 – 3.8 GHz.

At present, thanks to eighteen radio transmitters of the NASK network, the gained indicators show covering the Polish population at the level of 27% and covering of the surface of Poland – 10 percent.
